Tea Time

Sarser has found a new favorite tea drink. She always flaunts it at me because I do not have a favorite tea drink...or I didn't...until now.

Take that Sarser! Sweet Tea meet Hibiscus Pomegranite Tea. Mmmmm. Newly found. Very cheap. Mormon friendly. Hooray.

Monies

I have a bit of a penchant for change. I love nothing more than rummaging around my house or my purses and finding enough spare change to get myself a diet coke, or a shake or little trinkets at the store- like a new bottle of nail polish. I have been known to buy myself lunch off whatever change I can scrounge up. I love to have a wallet stuffed full of quarters and dimes. I love quarters the most. My boss has the best change drawer ever in his desk. I am totally envious of it, and the sad part is I don't think he ever uses it. There has got to be like $50 in spare change. I sneak looks at it often and covet how much change he has. I just wish I could buy myself a fun prize with it.

This is it

The Finale. And can I say that it is not possible that I could be any more happy about it. I am so tired of this season. It has just seemed to drag on and on and I don't even care who wins and who loses and that is a BIG deal people. I always care. This season has drained me of my Bachelor/ette energy and I just want to be done with it. After Wes left so did all the fun. I didn't even have the strength to post a single thing about Eds short shorts and tank tops. But I will say that I loved David on 'The Guys Tell All.' He is crazy town.

So with that all being said. And as sick of this dumb show as I am...I am still hosting a party at 9 PM to finish it off...so be there! Or be square. Because who doesn't want to watch Reid being forced back onto the show to proclaim his love for Jillian when it is completely obvious that he is as ready to be done with this show as I am?

Here we go again

Remember what happened last time I took this dance class? It happened again. Only yuckier.

And I am not even going to show you my other foot.

This is what a group of boys who aren't dentists but wear dentist coats look like

Good looking yes?

And this is what they look like with their wives/children.
And this is what their wives look like in their dental coats.
And even though Ty is not really all that close to being able to legally wear this coat, I am still terribly proud of him!

I would want him as my dentist. We are taking patients in approximately 3 years. You can get on the waiting list now however, if you would like.

Not so Boring

With the fam in town I figured it would be a good time to do some berry picking. We made the trek out to Boring, OR (probably quite true to its name if you are not there for berries, in which case it is quite the opposite). The pounds really add up when you have 5 sets of hands picking as opposed to 2. I loved having my family experience one of Ty and my favorite things about Oregon.
Dad really got into the berry picking. He is a natural.

Danny probably ate his weight in berries.

Very very messy. But very very happy with our 11 pounds.

Yay for berries!

After a fun day in the sun we stopped at A Pizza Scholls for dinner. It was my first time there and I fell madly in love. I am still dreaming about the Margorita pizza. Seriously. This is no joke. Best pizza I think I have ever had. MMM mmm mmm. Plus- sodas out of glass bottles? Yes please!

The weekend just went way too fast. It was so wonderful to have my parents and little brother in Portland. I forget just how much I miss them. I have the best family in the world {no offense to all other families}. It was great to just hang out and catch up. We just wish sarser could have been there. Thanks for the great weekend family!

Whats a trip to OR without a drive to the Gorge?

Apparently in our family it is a mandatory thing to visit the beautiful waterfall drive in the Gorge every single time a friend or family member comes to see us. Now that everyone in our family has seen it maybe we can cut back. Not that I don't love the drive...but I really think we have been about 14 times. BUT! it was Dad's first visit- so of course we had to take him. Lucky for us it was a beautiful day...but this also meant it was a very crowded day.

My cute parents.

The game here is called "Find Meg, Ty and Mom."

What is a trip to Multnomah falls without a photo of duck and teel shirt? This ones for you sarsey.

A lovely little holiday...

Crater Lake and the Redwoods were far more beautiful than either of us expected. We had a fabulous trip. Here are a few highlight photos.
Beaver Marsh, OR. Besides the beautiful clouds there is no reason to go there. Unless you want to stay in a mini A frame cabin. And we did.

Beautiful Crater Lake in the morning.

Mt. Scott. We had to hike it because of the name...said Tyler. Don't worry that it was straight uphill for 2 1/2 miles. But the swarms of butterflys at the top made the march uphill worth it.

We dominated that mountain. Obviously.

Very.Very.Very cold for swimming. But worth it.

Here I am getting very sunburned.

Jedidiah Smith Redwood Forest. Very big trees.

That little red dot is Tyler.

Looking good by the "Boy Scout Tree."

Our last and freezing cold day on the coast.

No!

Of all of the teams that would try to steal away my Paul Millsap...of course it would be the Blazers. All I can say is it better not happen! PAY UP JAZZ! I cannot face watching him be on the Blazers. Any team but them!

One year ago

I was the most homesick I have ever been since moving to Portland. I was so sad to be away from my family for he 4th of July. Our traditional neighborhood breakfast and parade followed by swimming at whoevers pool we could get into has always had a sentimental spot in my heart. I was so sad to be away for that day. I remember trying to put on a happy face and hoping that things would get better.
Well since then things definitely have changed and gotten much better. I love Portland and really feel at home here. So much has changed over the last year and I am grateful for all that I have learned, and for all the amazing people I have met and become friends with. I feel blessed every day.

Now one year later I am so excited for this 4th of July weekend! Ty and I have decided to take a little road trip. We are going to visit Crater Lake {somewhere I have always wanted to go!}
{image here}
And the Jedidiah Smith Redwood Forest. It is clearly going to be a beautiful trip.

Now, Tyler has never been a fan of road trips...so I am not totally sure what has come over him...but I am not going ask because I for one love a good road trip and can't wait to get on our way. Our car is loaded with treats and pillows and sparklers {for our little celebration at night on the 4th} and we are ready for adventure!

Have a beautiful Independence Day!

Dear Utah Jazz,

If you do not resign Paul Millsap, I am done. Forever. I will never forgive you for picking Carlos Lame Face Boozer over Play Like Paul Millsap. Never.

Thats really all I have to say about that.

Except, that I am really very serious about hating the Jazz forever if they let Paul go. So be a dear, and just give the boy what he wants/deserves.

Thank you,
Megan
