A few little European photos

I have been avoiding this post because I have been too overwhelmed with the concept of summarizing my incredible trip, and only posting a few photos. So I have finally decided to just throw up some fun pictures and call it good.

Just suffice it to say that this trip far exceeded my expectations. Which is pretty amazing considering I have been dreaming of this trip for the last 10 years. I loved every place we went, and it was so wonderful to travel with my sister and one of my dearest friends of 10 years. I am so lucky to have been able to take this trip! So here a few fun pictures. We took about 1300, so cutting it down to this was not an easy task. I hope you enjoy them.

First stop was Paris. This was the adorable little street that our hotel was on in the Marais district.
Notre Dame. So beautiful and stunning.
Victory of Somathrace.
This is my very favorite sculpture. It was an absolutely incredible experience to see her in person. She was even more beautiful than I expected.
Rickie is definitely one of my favorite people to travel with...for a lot of reasons. One is that she is funny. Very very funny. And another is that we are both very mature. Obviously.
The view from the Eiffel Tower at night.
The Eiffel Tower was gorgeous. I was so happy we were there when it lit up. I was missing my husband a lot at this romantic spot.
Germany- Bamberg, Munich, Fussen:
I cannot even begin to say how much I loved Germany. I did not expect it to be so awesome, so I was very pleasantly surprised.
Bamberg was beyond adorable.
Rickie and I loved the little rose gardens. Again, very mature.
Rothenberg. Without-a-doubt the most adorable place I have ever seen, and ever expect to see.
We loved the huge amazing Christmas stores. We spent many hours and Euros there.
Hofbrauhaus in Munich...where we discovered Apple Schrole. Joy.
Fussen Germany where the fairy tale castle was born.

Interlaken, Switzerland:
We took a train ride through the alps that was completely stunning. The final destination was the Jungfraujoch.
Ice caves were very cold and very awesome. The top of the Alps: Jungfraujoch. Gorgeous.
Paragliding.
Cinque Terre, Italy:
Have you ever seen anywhere so wonderful?
Time on the beach was so refreshing. We were so exhausted when we got here that spending the day on the beach and in the ocean was one of my favorite moments of the trip. The entrance to our adorable hotel.
The church in Monteroso.
Florence, Italy:
Florence turned out to be one of my favorite stops we made. I love this city so much.
This is at Piazza Michelangelo.
The Bernini doors. So incredible.
The Duomo was one of my favorites as well. Our hotel was in this very piazza. I loved waking up to the church bells every morning (well almost every morning).
We stopped at a beautiful church to hear a choir of monks sing. Before the concert we walked around the ground through this fabulous cemetery. I had never seen anything like it before.
Ponte Vecchio.
The Florence markets are a large part of why I fell so madly in love with this city. Just look at the setting. It was jam packed with leather belts, bags, jewelry and incredible scarves. We went a little crazy here on the shopping. It was to die for.
Last on the line up was Rome. I loved that city. A lot. A lot.

The Parthenon.
We are supermodels. Obviously. There was a lot of awesome posing going on everywhere here. We just could not help ourselves. We are at the Spanish Steps.
The Vatican. As incredible as you would expect.
St. Peters Basilica.
I could not totally love this place because of the absolute opulence. The gold, sparkles, art, sculptures etc etc was out of control. But still amazing.
La Pieta was the best part of St. Peters for me. It was so beautiful. It was so overwhelming to me to see these gorgeous pieces of art in person. They are so powerful. I don't think I will ever forget how I felt when I saw them. The David, Victory of Somathrace, Venus, La Pieta and so many more were just so incredible and so memorable.
I also have to mention the Sistine Chapel. While I wanted to die wandering through the miles of crap the Vatican houses and forces you through, the Sistine Chapel was breathtaking and so worth the trek.

The whole trip was, as I said, beyond description and beyond fabulous. I am so grateful I was able to fulfill a lifelong dream of mine at only 23. Now I need to dream up a new location to start petitioning to visit!

Loved seeing the pictures. Thanks for mustering up enough energy to post your monster Europe post. Now, your next assignment is to write an essay on what I should visit and why...if and when I go to Europe. :)

So fun to look through your pictures. So many memories and amazing, once-in-a-life-time experiences over there. Spencer and I find ourselves talking about our Europe adventures often. I don't know if you have done this yet but write out what you did each day you were there. It is hard to remember all the details after a while so it is nice to have it in writing. Victory of Somathrace was my favorite sculpture too. Isn't it wild how a work of art can be so moving?

Love you Meg. Thanks for doing all of the homework for me. I keep telling myself that I am going to make a photo book soon and your great summary will help out a lot. P.S I made my charm necklace. How is yours going?
