Star Trek

Space... the Final Frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Its five-year mission: to explore strange new worlds; to seek out new life and new civilizations; to boldly go where no man has gone before....{Sigh}
Please tell me that you love this show as much as I do. Recently Ty and I discovered that this is on every night at 10:00. Our new nightly ritual is to get ready for bed while watching. What better show to drift off to sleep to? I mean, how do you not L.O.V.E a show that says things like:
They are dropping to sub-warp speed... !
or
Reduce to impulse power... !
or even better:
Actually, the forces responsible for this effect would create a random transporter distribution inversely proportional to the density of the ship...
and even better still:
How intriguing. I believe we can deduce these crystalline tree-shapes to be energy collectors. Along the same principle that is draining energy from our ships!
OF COURSE!

Data is so smart. And Reading Rainbow Geordi with that banana clip visor? And Jean-Luc? So dreamy. And Troi? Total babe. Right? When I used to watch this show with my Dad and Sarser I always wanted to be Troi. Her huge black hair and hottie body suit were too awesome. But back to the point. Tyler and I love this show. A lot. And we are oh so glad that it has come back into our lives. Sometimes we try to come up with our own star trek lines...such as:
"Captain! The intergalactical biozone is crashing into our suboshphere!"
Give it a try. I think you will like it.

My friend Rickie...

Rickie and I have been friends since we were very little and ugly and weird. I am pretty sure we were 12 or 13 when we met. 7th grade. Admittedly a sad time for most of us. She has been one of my dearest friends since then, and now more than 10 years later things have not changed. And lucky lucky me, I got to travel through Europe with her. I feel confident in saying no one makes me laugh more than Rickie. And no one couldhave made a better travel buddy.

After perusing through all of my pictures today I found myself laughing at many of the pictures of the two of us, and then feeling so blessed to have such a wonderful friend, and then feeling doubly blessed that we got to share such a fun trip together. {We have also talked about doing this trip for nearly as long as we have known each other}

So here is my photographical ode to Rickie.

Did I mention that we are VERY cute and photogenic?
Loving our Apple Schorle and yucky healthy fizzy drinks. Again...cute and photogenic. Obviously.
Rothenberg.

We like to jump everywhere we go. It makes things more fun.
Bamberg.
Showing off our supermodelness at the Spanish Steps.
Rome Fountains.

We had a lot of fun at the Eiffel Tower. {You can see it if you look really closely in the background} This almost turned into a little pee our pants disaster...but luckily we pulled ourselves together before it was too late.

Ponte Vecchio in Florence.
Love you dearly Rickie!
And a side note...I think I had forgotten that I had a blog for awhile. Why you ask? Because lately my job has been requiring a FULL 8 hours of work! Wha!? I know. Tragic. But I think the worst is over. Now back to how things were before. {sigh of relief}

This Is It

Last night I saw 'This Is It.' Things have been really hectic this week, so I almost just didn't go. What a mistake that would have been! This really was marvelous. I loved Michael's descriptive way of speaking. Particularly about how certain notes should "nourish" us, and breaks in sound need to "shimmer."

At 50 he was still the riveting performer he was at 15. What a shame that he is gone. I love his music and dance, like so many others, to a fairly ridiculous level. This concert would have been phenomenal. What a heartbreak for all of the people who worked so closely with Michael to pull this off. There is something about dance that really moves me and speaks to me. Watching the performers in this movie was so awesome. I doubt there will ever be a dancer and performer that will ever come close to filling the shoes of MJ.

The last of the Halloween posts...

I promise.
We had a lovely Hallween bowling, watching football and dancing the night away. Even Ty let his hair down for a few moments and threw out some mean dance moves. I'm so proud.
