Our favorite 2010 discovery

Grace Potter and The Nocturnals.
They barely made it in the 2010 discovery because I think it was about December 30 when we were randomly watching a VH1 concert for the troops (or something very exciting like that) when we heard this very awesome song. We had never seen or heard of the band before but we really loved the band and her voice. Think Stevie Nicks meets Norah Jones with a little more rock and roll. We were in love. So we got online looked them up and magically enough they were coming to Portland on January 28. We promptly drove ourselves to the box office and acquired tickets. $15 a piece, and quite possibly the best $30 we have ever spent.
This concert was insane. It was so good. Grace plays about 20 instruments and has the most incredible voice. They played for 2 1/2 straight hours. No talking, and they didn't even stop playing in between songs. We were beside ourselves. So so good. Tyler has placed it as the second best concert he has ever seen (which is really saying something) and I have it unquestionably at number one.
Please go listen to them on itunes or youtube or something.
And guess what SLC friends!? She is coming to you.
So, if you live in SLC get in your car and drive to The Depot {RIGHT NOW!} and get yourself some tickets. They will be there on Feb 9. Seriously. Go. Now.
Also, I have a crush on the base player. She is awesome.
Here, watch. Then go buy tickets.

And this just does not do justice to her live performance.
My oh my do we love Grace Potter.

A little more Christmas never hurt anyone.

Plus, I had to get the horrifying Twilight picture off of my front page. Whew!
12 hours is plenty to have that sucker the first thing you look at when you sign in.

Sooo...
Here we are rocking our new Jazz gear. Marilee and I found the deal of the century on these hoodies. We love Marilee's heavy obsession with the Jazz. We got to go see them play the Blazers...but we aren't going to talk about the final score. Sore subject. But man do I love my new hoodie. And man do I love that they are back to the classic note. Finally. Can I get an Amen from my fellow Jazz fans out there? We had a wonderful brunch Christmas day with Tyler's family. Marilee has the most beautiful Christmas tree I have ever seen. She has a gift.
Mar and Lar with me and Ty.
We also got to meet our very long time friends new crazy cute baby. World, meet Drew.
While incredibly strange to see these two as parents, they were naturals. It was so great to see them. We miss our Utah friends. It was fabulous to get to see a few of them.
And that rounds up the Christmas photos. For now.

Why Non-Mormons Cant Stop Reading Mormon Housewife Blogs

My friend sent me a link to an interesting article the other day about non-Mormons being "addicted" to so many of the "Mormon Mommy Blogs." Like so many others out there, I am a reader of many of those blogs, and also find my self in the addicted column. I have a real love/hate relationship with many of them, but overall I really do enjoy reading these blogs.
I have always found it fascinating that people not of the LDS faith are such heavy readers of these blogs. Many of the blogs I read have said that the majority of their readers are not of their faith. This article offers an interesting insight into one such reader.
I was planning on writing a post full of deep thoughts about the subject, but my sister beat me to the punch. As usual. And has written more eloquently that I ever would, so go here and read the article, and then go here and read her post. I share all of her same feelings on this matter. And I could not be more grateful to know that being a wife and a mother is the most difficult and most rewarding job there is.
I would love your thoughts on the matter.

I got a peanut butter and jelly best friends/sisters necklace for Christmas

I bet no one else can say that.
It was wonderful as always to be home for Christmas. I loved spending time with family and catching up with friends. We had a lovely week that went way too fast.
We started the trip out with brunch with some of my college roomies.

We then proceeded to spend every possible second with family, and more specifically C. Man do we love her. I am over chubby babies. I am into little happy stick babies like C.

See? Even Ty loves her. Thanks to C I think we might actually have kids someday.

We got to talk to Trent on Christmas. He gets home on April 15. We are SO excited.

My best girls. Minus Muv. Sarsers.
Me and Danny at delicious Kyoto.
A&B.
We had a fabulous trip and can't wait to go back.
